Currently living in Toronto, Daniel Waters was born May 14, 1991 and grew up in Sarnia, Ontario; a small city 3 hours away from Toronto on the border of Canada and the United States. This meant a lack of interest and exposure to electronic music but life (or music in this case) always finds a way!
At an early age Daniel took piano lessons for a few years, got his first guitar in Grade. 8, played drums when he had the chance, took music classes all through High School and was even in the school band(clarinet; you would never guess!). He enjoyed listening by ear to play songs, learning to play songs or just jam out on one of his 3 instruments; especially when it was an electronic keyboard or synthesizer because of all the cool sounds.
Even though the trends in Sarnia were always rock and rap/hip-hop music Daniel always had a thing for melodies, even if it was just epic scores from movies, video games or intros for sports games on television. The atmoshpere, the high energy and emotions you can feel from them fascinated him and grabbed his attention. High School was the start for falling in love with electronic music as he discovered and loved different songs from Tiesto’s ‘Elements of Life’ to Eric Prydz’s ‘Pjano’ to Oceanlab’s “Clear Blue Water” to jumpstyle music. The video game called “Dj Hero” also inspired him(as silly as it sounds) with the actions of using the fake/corny controller. He would say it really kicked off when he moved away to Hamilton, Ontario in 2010 at age 19 where there was more exposure to the scene being close to Toronto and got his wishes granted that Christmas with his first set of decks. From here on he began to fall in love with the high engergy sounds and melodies of the old school Laidback Luke, Chuckie, Ummet Ozcan, Third Party, Blasterjaxx, Sander Van Doorn, Hardwell to the long story-telling sets by Markus Schulz and Armin Van Buuren. At the age of 21, Daniel finally decided to get Fl Studio to put his musical abilities to work and has been working on his own productions slowly on/off over the years. He recently just got back in to it more frequently and plans to share them with you in the near future; although he is the type where it won’t be heard unless it pleases him fully.
Daniel has matured and developed into a wide variety of sub-genres (Trance, Progressive, Big Room, Psy-Trance, House, Techno) over the years. With his selection of music and a growing library, Dani Vince is all about taking you on a musical journey from 124bpm-140bpm and loves pulling off marathon sets when given the chance.
